About the show
Bringing all the drama, charm and characters of the much loved series to a younger audience, Little Big Cat tells the stories through the eyes of the cubs.
In 2008 the Big Cat Diary team returned once again to the Masai Mara Range, to follow the trials, tribulations and joyful successes of the big cats that inhabit it. Aimed at a pre-school audience, Little Big Cat uses a friendly story teller to set the scene and introduce the subject of each particular show while the cubs are voiced by young African children.
The high-quality footage itself is taken from the expansive Natural History Unit archive – the very best footage from the past 5 years of filming for Big Cat Diary, and focuses on the challenges facing these young cubs when growing up in such an environment.
Alongside the cheetahs, lions and leopards, the show also gives the viewer the chance to encounter the other animals living in the Reserve: elephant, giraffe, zebra, crocodile and so much more – all in the rich photography associated with the adult show.
With its friendly, accessible style and a variety of characters and storylines, this show will entertain the audience and introduce them to the magnificent landscapes and environmental diversity within Africa.
